My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all available laps! Cookie would like to snuggle in them. She would like to snuggle in the lap of her own forever human or forever family even more

Cookie came from the streets after sleeping in a garage near her foster mom. She settled right in, demanding attention, cuddles, playtime, and wet food. While she’s sometimes a bit shy at first, treats or a wand toy are a quick way to her heart—and a quick way to get a lap cat who just wants to be with you.

This sweet girl would do best in a quieter home where she can rule the roost and explore as many spaces as possible. She is not a fan of dogs and may do well with other cats if given a proper introduction and everything goes at her pace.

Cookie is spayed, dewormed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $50. She will come with a sample of food and all of her medical records.

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
