My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good With Other Dogs: *Females same size ideal
Good With Cats: No
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes

Special Needs: N/A
Physical Fence: Preferred
Favorite Toy / Activity: Loves fetch and squeaky toys

Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in the summer of 2023.

Approximate age / Weight: 1 yr old and 50 lbs.

Personality: Arnold is a happy, energetic boy who arrived with an injury that required hip replacement surgery. He dealt with that like a champ and is ready to live life to the fullest. True to his breed, Arnold thrives on physical activity. He enjoys long walks, vigorous play sessions and likely would love to participate in dog sports.

While he hasn’t charmed the male dogs (huskies) in his foster home, he hangs out with the lady dogs and respects their boundaries and corrections. We do not think Arnold is a good candidate for daycare or dog parks.

New Home: Arnold is adaptable and would likely fit it to different home environments as long as his physical and mental stimulation needs are met. He is really looking for humans to appreciate his go-go-go personality. He will accept the challenge of keeping up with an active pet parent.

More about this rescue

Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue organization. Our dedicated volunteers rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and re-home all breeds of homeless dogs from area shelters or as owner-surrenders. Waggin' Tails is supported solely through donations and fund-raising efforts. Our volunteers receive no monetary payment for their activities. Instead, their reward is the knowledge that a dog's life has been saved that otherwise would have been lost.
