My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey is a very active girl that would be a good candidate for agility or fly ball.  She will need to go to a home where she can be exercised often & given plenty of play time.  Once she has gotten some energy out, she does enjoy cuddling or sitting on your lap & watching a movie. She absolutely loves kids.

She is picky about other dogs, nice when visiting and playing so long as there are no toys involved. Honey will not share her toys with anyone.  She will gladly exchange toys and food when humans involved but not with other dogs.  Honey LOVES to swim!  She gladly gets in the pool!

She is crate trained and housebroken.  She has house manners although she does like to nap on the couch and occasionally puts a paw on a counter but redirects easily.

She is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly.  Honey is registered with the American Border Collie Association & comes with a plaque showing her lineage.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Once we have your application we will begin our screening and matching process so we can help find you a perfect match.

All Applicants are interviewed, reference checks and a home visit completed.

Once approved and you have met a dog that you would like to adopt, an adoption contract will be completed and an adoption donation of $300.00 requested to complete the adoption process.

BCR&R is totally dependent on our volunteers and foster homes, most of whom have full time careers and commitments outside of BCR&R. As a result, we work with potential adoptive families in the evenings and weekends.

More about this rescue

Border Collie Rescue & Rehab (BCR&R) is a network of volunteers and foster homes dedicated to helping save Border Collies, Border Collie mixes and other similar herding breeds.

The dogs in our program have come from shelters and the streets and we bring them into our homes and provide them with the training and love necessary to help them become valued members of a family. We call it our Rescue & Rehab Program.

All dogs are provided with necessary veterinary care and are microchipped. The dogs in our program will live with us as part of our families for a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks for evaluation and training in addition to ensuring overall health.
