My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who doesn't love this Hollywood worthy face!!  Meet Rolling Stone Magazine, aka Rollo - the sweetest, most loving boy!.  He's absolutely darling. He was found as a stray and kept at the shelter for 5 months before being rescued, but is potty trained and crate trained (has no problem sleeping in his crate through the night).  Rollo loves affection and doesn't mind you getting all up in his face to give him hugs and kisses (He loves it!) He also loves to do zoomies and would really enjoy having a yard to play in, but also very content with movie nights and living in a small NYC apartment.  He's not destructive at all, and honestly just wants to lounge around, relax and cuddle, or go for walks.  He's quite confident and gets excited to see other dogs while on walks, and will likely take a bit of time adjusting to crowded places, but his foster mom is working wonders with him and he is improving on a daily basis.  He hasn't had a lot of exposure to places where there is a lot of stimulation, except the shelter.  Rollo will be a perfect companion to someone who's calm, patient, and confident in continuing his leash training and socialization with other dogs.  He thrives in a low-key environment, but has no problem walking in high-traffic areas.

Personality & Characteristics: Sweet, curious, happy, loving

My foster dog is good with: Dogs. Rollo can get really excited when he sees another dog at first. Best to introduce new dog in a 1:1 neutral environment. Good around kids.  No problem around any human.  He isn't trained around cats yet!
My foster dog is: Crate trained, house trained.
3 Keywords for your pup: Loving, curious, confident
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 4
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Mostly quiet, but might bark a little if he hears sudden loud noises, but calms down quickly after. He's been responding very well to desensitization training.
Walking Manners: Considering he's never been on a leash before coming to us, he doing amazing.  He gets better every time he goes out.  Hardly any pulling unless there's a a truly instense scent he has to check out!  He's currently in a head halter (aka Halti collar) and that has made a big difference. Walks him improve daily, he's very smart!
Appetite: Average, will eat all of his food and look for you to give him more :) and always has an appetite for treats.
Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above): He's a bit nervous around elevators (a dog lunged out at him once and he's been a bit scared since).  He's great in the car and will lay down after while of checking out the scenery.  He loves the ball but doesn't know how to play fetch yet.
Favorite Things: Treats, all the smells on walks, snuggles, toys, food!
Commands/Tricks: Sit, Stay, Come,

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
