My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ruby! Ruby is almost a little over 1 year old, around 40 pounds Treeing Walking Coonhound mix, fully vaccinated and ready for her forever home.

Ruby is what we call your normal TWC, meaning you need to be prepared for that nose leading her to counter surf, bark at you when you are not preparing her food quick enough, but also a little anxious.  TWC make great house dogs, but they come with natural anxiety that can be worked with.

Ruby is timid with new experiences, so she will do well with a patient and confident family. Ruby loves treats, which is great, she will do anything for food – most hounds always feel like they are not fed enough…really, no joke!

Due to some of her anxieties we are finding that Ruby will need another dog in the home to help her feel more confident and calmer.  Ruby LOVES children.

If you are interested in adopting Ruby, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt.

***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***
