Meet Koda! This 2 year old Shepherd mix is looking for his furever home! This silly boy knows how to put a smile on anyone's face. His favorite things consist of play, treats, and cuddles. He is a social butterfly with all people and dogs alike - making him an especially great fit for families and/or someone with another pup at home. Don't let his size fool you, he is a certified lap dog. Koda is an alert boy and sometimes gets anxious with new loud sounds, but it just takes a few pets from his favorite people to bring out his brave side again. He is a perfect adventure buddy! He loves the outdoors, getting to run around, smelling everything he can. Koda is also a smart boy that enjoys learning new tricks and using his sniffers.

Our adoption process is a walk-up and queue-based, first-come, first-served system. You will have a meet and greet with an Adoption Counselor to discuss your application, review information on the pets you would like to meet, and you will be introduced to the pet(s).If the Meet and Greet is a success, staff will complete your adoption paperwork to make it official! Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.
We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.
In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
