My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Sirius! Named after the magical wizard in Harry Potter! And magical I am! It's "magic that I am an extremely loving dog after all I have been through in my approx. 7 years! I was found extremely malnourished, weighing in just a little over 6 lbs with chronic pancreatitis and diabetes. BUT I have gotten all that under control and am ready to be your loyal, almost Velcro-like companion! Here's how!

I am a Min-Pin mix with the most amazing ears! I also have the cutest overbite that features my snaggle tooth and has earned me the nicknames: Snags, Snaggy, Snaggalopugus, and Snaggy-Poo (my foster mom's favorite!)
I LOVE to snuggle and cuddle! Whether with humans or without. On your lap, next to you, on a couch, in a bed, or on the floor. Burrowing under blankets is the BEST! Sometimes I need your help, but I can usually do it on my own.
I make the BEST WFH companion! I will lay by you on the floor (under a blanket of course) while you are working, or I also love to be on your lap and make the occasional appearance on your video calls! My big ears can sometimes give me away!
I LOVE the sun! Whether it's outdoors or inside. I will find a sunny spot in the house and lay in it. When it moves, I'll move with it!
Weighing in now at close to 7 lbs, I am very portable! I love car rides, running errands, hanging out at breweries or taking walks as I do well on a leash and (again thanks to my big ears) listen well to commands!
I go into my crate to sleep overnight and when humans leave the house. I have been allowed to sleep with humans in their bed and I do love it but it's not a necessity. I also like to go into my crate on my own sometimes during the day when I'm stressed. If I do that, please leave me be as I'll come back out when I'm ready.
Due to my pancreatitis, I am on Rx food and can only eat that food -even for treats. But I don't mind bc it's good and I'll do anything for it!
I wear a "magical charm which is my diabetes monitor. This is changed on me every two weeks. I don't mind it bc it helps you see my blood sugar levels at all times which keeps me in check! Humans love it because you scan the charm with an app from your phone and it gives you a reading. That is also sent to my "magical healers at the vet for them to keep tabs on me too!
I need injections of "magic juice (insulin) two times a day for my diabetes. The humans have figured out multiple ways to give them to me to cause the least amount of stress possible which they will happily share with you! I don't really mind them!
The house dog I currently live with is 70 lbs and we get along GREAT! Actually I don't really do much with her and she is the same with me. So I feel I will do well with another dog in the house. I'm not sure what a "cat is so I'm not sure I would like them but I'd be willing to try.
I kinda like to "talk sometimes which can be a little much for the humans. But it's only because I want them to know that someone is at the door or that I'm excited for my dinner or that I'm excited to see magical healers or other friends. I'm learning the word "quiet means to stop talking. I am a work in progress! :-)
I am house trained! Because of my size, I have a small bladder and because of my diabetes, I LOVE water. So I just need to be taken out every few hours. But at night, I can sleep about 9 hours prior to going out and same with when the humans leave and I'm in the crate for a bit.

Bottom line is that I am a really sweet dog who is looking for its fur-ever home that has lots of love and care to give me...not to mention blankets! I'm looking forward to meeting you!
