Their adoption process

Dogs/puppies are $300.00 and cats/kittens are $150. This includes shots, spay/neuter and dewormings, microchipping etc. We do not adopt on a "first come/first serve basis". We try to match each animal with the right family based on the individual animal's needs and personality. We do home checks, vet checks and initial applications.

Adoption steps

  1. Approve Application
    1. All applications are reviewed when received. Best match to lifestyle is used to select owner.
  2. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. We ensure that the Contract is understood by initialing #3 on the form. We adopt only healthy spayed/neutered animals.
  3. Home Check
    1. Home Checks are required for ALL dog adoptions. It is optional on our cat adoptions.

Go meet their pets

Silver Lake has curtailed the Saturday showings during the pandemic. We still have a limited amount of cats showing in the Adoption Center at our PetSmart listed below. It is better to check our websites for available animals.

We show Young and Adult cats every Saturday from Noon - 4 p.m. at Petsmart in Rochester Hills, Michigan - 1116 S Rochester Rd.. It is located on Rochester Rd., south of Avon on the west side. If anyone is interested in seeing a particular pet, you must first email slarl@yahoo.com and ask to make sure the pet is still available and ask if the pet will be attending the adoption show.

More about this rescue

Silver Lake does not have a shelter. We are a group of concerned animal lovers who foster dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in our homes. We are mainly focused in Oakland and Macomb Counties. We try to save as many animals as we can but we are limited due to small number of foster homes available. We spay/neuter all animals older than 4 months of age.
