RUFUS - a gentle, sweet and fun companion
Rufus may have had a rough start, but his sweet and gentle nature shines through as he gradually gains confidence in new surroundings. While initially timid, patience and time will allow him to blossom and form a strong bond with his new family. His curious spirit and emerging goofy personality add charm to his character, and he delights in playful romps in the yard and receiving affectionate gestures like head and belly rubs. Rufus is adaptable and gets along well with dogs and cats, displaying good manners and a gentle demeanor. While mostly house-trained, he benefits from having access to the yard for potty breaks, especially if left alone for extended periods. Continued leash and basic command training will further enhance his skills, as he is new to structured training. With a preference for human company, Rufus thrives in the presence of someone at home frequently. With love, patience, and ongoing support, Rufus is poised to become a cherished member of a caring and understanding family.
Please Note:

*Must have a FENCED-IN yard!*

More about this rescue
Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
