My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dylan! If you ever needed a picture of "gentle" look no further than the photos of Dylan.

He is the calmest of dogs with the most remarkable demeanor. Dylan is about 4-5 yrs old and weighs 50 lbs. He has lived in two different foster homes with dogs of all sizes and does remarkably well with everyone. He loves napping - in fact, his nickname is "Dylan B Chillin" as he is often found sound asleep with all four feet in the air! He also loves a good antler to chew on and sunbathing - in even the middle of a Texas summer! He is quiet and rarely barks although he does like to "whine" when he's excited! Dylan has completed heartworm treatment AND had luxating patella surgery on both knees. He won't be running any marathons but he has recovered well and is doing great! Dylan has also completed 3 weeks of professional training and has impeccable manners! He also LOVES belly rubs and is extremely submissive with people and dogs. He is a bit shy in new situations and with new people but is getting braver every day! He will do best with a family who will appreciate that he's an introvert and work with him to build confidence. Dylan is a home body and a couch potato! He loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another sweet, confident dog to be his friend and gentle playmate. Dylan LOVES lounging in the yard and would prefer a home with a fenced in yard that he can take his daily siesta!

Think he might be "the one?" Email info@joyrides.org to request an app!

Dylan is being fostered in Houston, TX and is available for adoption locally, out of area and out of state. He would come to his new home on professional transport. Due to his shy nature, Dylan will never be an "off leash" type of dog and is not a candidate for an electric fence.
