Meet Hilo!

Hilo is a super-friendly, quirky and confident 2-year-old kitty, ready for love and a family to call his own! This sweet guy will melt your heart while making biscuits on your chest. If you’re looking for a snuggler, he’s the one for you! He will sleep by your side all night long and follow you around all day like a shadow if you’ll let him. Hilo is curious, chatty and loves attention, making him a perfect companion for household chores and other day-to-day adventures!

While he is a big love-bug, he truly shines during playtime. Hilo has never met a toy that he doesn’t like! He enjoys playing fetch (with a 50% return rate), zooming through tunnels and hunting for prey (feathers and spring toys). After playtime, he appreciates winding down with some one-on-one attention; his favorites include but are not limited to: treats, belly rubs, brushes, and cuddles.

Though he enjoys the company of other kitties, this goofball can get excitable and misread their boundaries during playtime, so Hilo would be a better fit for a friendly kitty looking for a bona fide playmate. He is immunocompromised due to his health history, so it is important that all feline companions are up to date on vaccines. He cannot go to a home with dogs.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Browse our adoptable cats and complete an application! Your application is good for one year for any cat(s) in our program.

2.
Interview

We will process your application and contact you with any questions.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, we will put you in contact with the foster parent of the cat you wish to meet! Schedule a meet&greet virtually or in-person.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Once you've met your match, your foster will walk you through signing the adoption contract and paying the adoption fee! Happy Tails!

Additional adoption info

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriate), tested for FIV and FeLV, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas before adoption. We expect your current pets to be as well.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
$90 for any cat over 6 months
$150 for a pair of cats over 6 months
$125 for a kitten under 6 months
$210 for two kittens under 6 months

We have many wonderful cats and kittens for adoption!

We do adoptions generally by appointment only. All of our cats are fostered in individual foster homes throughout the Baltimore Metro Area. Meet/Greets can be arranged virtually, at the foster's home, at an adoption event, and/or at a mutually agreed upon venue (e.g. Petco or Petsmart). We hold adoption events periodically throughout the Baltimore Metro area, including Petco Gambrills, Petco Owings Mills, Loyal Companion Baltimore, and others!

The Feline Rescue Association (FRA) is dedicated to improving the lives of unwanted and homeless cats and kittens, be they friendly or feral, through rescue, adoption and spay and neuter. Our cats/kittens are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, tested for FIV/FeLV. We expect adopters pets to be as well.
