My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nora, a precious gem weighing in at 18lbs and standing as a testament to resilience and gentleness at 2 years old. Despite her initial nervousness, Nora quickly unveils her true nature - a heart of gold, brimming with affection and readiness to bond with those who offer her kindness and patience.

Nora is a unique blend of a permanent baby German Shepherd Dog in a compact package, making her an ideal companion for both apartment living and homes with limited space. Her size belies her spirited agility and prowess, making her a delight to watch and engage with in playful activities.

Though tentative at first, Nora's warm heart shines through once she feels secure. She is a dog-friendly soul who navigates social interactions with grace, proving to be a wonderful friend to her canine counterparts. Her compatibility extends beyond her species, as her gentle and quiet demeanor makes her a peaceful addition to any family dynamic.

Exceptional in her manners, Nora is both crate and house-trained, showcasing her adaptability and eagerness to please. She walks beautifully on a leash, a testament to her cooperative spirit and her potential as the perfect sidekick for all your adventures, whether they be in bustling city streets or quiet country paths.

What Nora cherishes most is the gift of praise and attention. She thrives under the glow of affection, her timid nature melting away to reveal a loyal, friendly, and utterly devoted companion. She embodies the essence of a gentle spirit, making her the perfect buddy to stand by your side through thick and thin.

Nora's ideal home would be one where she can enjoy the tranquility of a quiet environment, with owners who understand the value of patience and gentle encouragement. She promises to be a source of endless love, companionship, and grateful tail wags for the lucky family that chooses to welcome her into their lives.

If you're looking for a faithful friend who asks for little more than your love and a cozy spot by your side, Nora is waiting. Her journey may have started with hesitancy, but with the right family, it's destined to blossom into a beautiful tale of companionship and mutual adoration.

More about this rescue

Sonoma's Haven Inc. 501(c)3 organization was founded in June 2015 after seeing the shortage of fosters that are able to take in rescue dogs needing a safe place to stay until they are adopted. This is a crucial part of the process and Sonoma’s Haven is here to help the rescues. Without space for a dog to go they are unable to intake the dog. Sometimes the situation is urgent and they cannot wait for a foster to step up or the dog might need help medically and emotionally before its ready to be in a home setting. Our organization creates a safe atmosphere for dogs to begin the process of healing and learning the joys of life. We finished our new facility in Sealy, Tx in June 2018. We were able to include a lounge area in our building design which allows dogs to enjoy some of the things usually only dogs in a home environment experience. The lounge includes super comfy couches for them to hang out on and decompress and just get some one on one attention from staff and volunteers. All of our staff members have a passion for caring for these dogs that stay with us. We get to be a stepping stone for these dogs as they learn how to trust humans again and enjoy what it is supposed to be like for a dog. We have a large fenced area that they get to run and play in. Understanding that the dogs here are searching for that perfect foster/forever home we like to capture photos and videos of the dogs to assist the rescues in their efforts to network the dogs.
