My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blonde is a very sweet girl, who is learning to trust people. She's curious about the world and enjoys other dog friends. She is very docile and loves to cuddle.

She is a tiny lemon beagle, who appears to never have seen grass or nice people before we got her. She is super cute, but needs an owner who has patience of a saint as she gains trust. Having a confident dog or two may help her open up a bit.

She is heartworm negative.

More about this rescue

Hound Rescue is always in need of foster homes. We do not have a shelter so our ability to rescue is limited only by the number of families willing to take in a beagle in need. If interested go to http://houndrescue.com and click on "How to Foster."

Hound Rescue started in Austin, Texas in 1998. We are a small group of individuals who foster dogs in our homes. Hound Rescue also provides placement assistance to both shelters and others who need to find homes for hounds who for whatever reason have become stray.

Most of our animals come from high-kill facilities where they were scheduled to be euthanized. Because of the huge numbers of unwanted dogs, Hound Rescue Texas can only take owner surrenders on a limited basis as space permits in our foster home network.
