Rescue FAQs

Hound Rescue is always in need of foster homes. We do not have a shelter so our ability to rescue is limited only by the number of families willing to take in a beagle in need. If interested go to http://houndrescue.com and click on "How to Foster." Hound Rescue started in Austin, Texas in 1998. We are a small group of individuals who foster dogs in our homes. Hound Rescue also provides placement assistance to both shelters and others who need to find homes for hounds who for whatever reason have become stray. Most of our animals come from high-kill facilities where they were scheduled to be euthanized. Because of the huge numbers of unwanted dogs, Hound Rescue Texas can only take owner surrenders on a limited basis as space permits in our foster home network.
