My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Area: East Tennessee

Nubbins needs:
-Adult home - children must be at least 8 years of age
-Someone home part of the day to continue my housetraining
-Someone to help me lose a little weight so I stay healthy

Hi everyone, my name is Nubbins. I’m a sweet 7-year-old Male White/Tan Chihuahua mix. I weigh in at just over 12 pounds - I’m working on getting down to a to a healthy weight and will need your help to continue with that. I had some crusty, red itchy skin and hair loss when I came to SBRET. With medicated baths (which I tolerated ok) and antibiotics my skin has cleared up. I feel so much better and my hair has started to grow back. My housetraining is coming along nicely – I’ve gotten the hang of the routine in my foster home. I do wear a belly band (a male wrap - I’ll bring it with me) when my foster mom is busy and can’t keep a close eye on me. It will take a little time for me to learn the routine in my forever home so please be patient and take me out often and everything should work out for both of us. I sleep quietly in my crate at night and when my foster mom needs to leave the house – other times she leaves the door open so I can nap there if I want to. I had never been on a leash/harness until I came to my foster home but you would never know it because I’m doing so well with that. If you happen to have a secured fenced yard for me to explore I won’t complain at all. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home but sometimes I guard the toy I’m playing with and my foster mom tosses me another one and I move on. In my previous home there were cats and a lot of other small dogs. When my foster mom takes me for a ride in the car she crates me to keep me safe and I nap/ride quietly. I’m a cuddly sweet little guy usually but I did give the Veterinarian a bit of a hard time – he trimmed my nails, did my heartworm test and then I got ugly when they cleaned my crusty ears. Make sure anyone handling me for checkup/nail trim is aware that I might get ugly so they are prepared. For the most part I’m just your average Chihuahua without the yappy bark - I hang out on the couch when you're busy unless you're in the kitchen then I’m right there where the food is. I’m neutered, microchipped, also up to date on my vaccines, flea and heartworm preventions and had a dental. My adoption fee is $175.

If you're looking for a great little companion like me contact my friends at SBRET.COM, get your application approved, and we can start spending a lot of beautiful sunny days together real soon.

Hugs,
Nubbins
