My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***NEEDS FOSTER or FUREVER HOME***
Currently in Challis

Sweet, timid, <1 year old, ~40-lb OPAL is now ready to interview foster or furever families.

With her gorgeous gold eyes, she may have Labrador and Weimaraner or even Blue Lacy breeds in her mix, but is on the small size.

OPAL entered FFAR timid from likely living on her own with her puppies and wary of all. She may need house-training.

OPAL is doing okay on leash, but is still a little unsure. She loves people, kids and other dogs. She is submissive and easy to handle.

OPAL is looking for a patient family to help her find her confidence

BACKGROUND: Found and trapped in Rupert the day before Christmas with 3 puppies. She was scared of EVERYTHING. Time in the boarding kennels and kind, gentle staff and volunteers have helped her tremendously.

Additional adoption info

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise.
