Riley was rescued as a kitten when she and her sisters were found living in an abandoned car outside of an apartment building. It was winter and while the car provided shelter from the wind and snow it was still not great for keeping the kittens from freezing. The girls came to us and while the other 2 sisters did become friendly and warm up Riley still is very unsure of humans. She is a stunning orange tabby and really a pretty big girl. We would love nothing more than for a cat savvy person to see this chubby pumpkin and want to put in the effort to help her learn that humans can be nice. Riley was born about October of 2020, she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. As always our adoption fee for cats/kittens is free will to approved applicants.

All interested parties must fill out an adoption application and be approved prior to adoption. If a family has currently, or in the recent past had pets then a veterinary reference is required. If not then two personal references are required. Our adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$300. Our adoption fee for cats is free will donation. After an adoption has been approved an adoption contract must be signed.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
