My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luna, a 2-year-old Retriever, Labrador/Mix.?? She's the perfect companion for an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures and plenty of playtime.

"Luna is a very loving, playful, and friendly and gentle with my wife and I and our teenage kids. She absolutely loves to play fetch with her tennis balls or ropes," Luna's previous owner said.

This sweet pup adores playing fetch and splashing around in water, making her the ultimate playmate for those sunny days at the park or by the river. Luna's friendly nature also makes her a wonderful companion for families with teenagers, as she thrives on love and attention.

Luna has been housebroken and is comfortable both indoors and outdoors. However, it's important to note that Luna doesn't do well with small animals and cats.

If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion to join your family, then Luna might just be the perfect match for you.

Luna will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. Luna will need a home with no cats and no small animals. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We also think Luna would do best with children that are 6 years and older.

Luna is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today.

More about this shelter

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter in Southern Idaho. Serving all of Canyon County, and surrounding areas. We take in the stray, surrendered, abandoned, neglected animals in our community. In 2017, we took in 7,778 animals. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance.

We contract with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County to house stray and owner surrender animals that their ACO's, or the general public, bring to us.
