My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jack Jack may come across as shy and wary at first, but those tender eyes just radiate the desire to love and be loved.

He has made some impressive progress here at Sarge's and has grown particularly fond of staff and volunteers who have dedicated their time and efforts towards showing Jack Jack that he can trust humans.

We think Jack Jack would do wonderful him a home where he can have the space to feel things out at his own pace. He appears to be comfortable around some fellow pups, but we would require a meet and greet with potential four-legged friends.

Additional adoption info

We do our best to match the animal with the most suitable home possible. Sometimes adopters choose an animal that has needs beyond what they will be able to provide, and we'll recommend a different pet more suited to their home. We check landlord requirements, if any, and we check vet references. We may request a home visit for animals with special needs.

Go meet their pets

Our Adoption Center is open Tuesday-Friday, 11 to 4 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM. The public is welcome to visit during those hours. We do attend offsite special events and take some of our adoptable dogs. These are usually publicized via social media, www.facebook.com/sarges.

More about this rescue

Sarge’s animals are usually taken directly from the Haywood County Animal Control facility. They are all tested for heart worm or Feline Leukemia/FIV, given appropriate vaccinations and preventatives for heart worms and fleas, spayed/neutered and dogs are microchipped. They are socialized as time permits and many have been taught basic commands. We enjoy placing animals into loving and responsible homes, and we appreciate that our adopters have sought out rescue animals.
