My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is an adorable little 9-lb. girl who is in need of her forever home. She came to us from Animal Control... we are guessing her age to be around 10-years, even though she acts more like a 5 or 6-year-old.

Lucy is a friendly girl and likes both adults and children. She gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home, but she barks at the big dog. She doesn't interact very much with the other dogs, so we feel that she will do well in either a single-dog home or with another small dog. Lucy's a little 'Velcro dog' and wants to be right next to her person or in their lap.

Lucy walks well on a leash and enjoys going for walks and car rides. She is housetrained and crate trained, but has to be let out often, so a home with a fenced yard will be best for her.

Lucy is current on her vaccinations... Dist/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies. She is spayed and microchipped, tested negative for Heartworms, and had a dental cleaning. She is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Lucy also has dry eyes and needs eyedrops... one drop in each eye every day.

When we rescued Lucy from Animal Control, we were told that she had a UTI, but it turned out that she had bladder stones. She is now fully recovered from her surgery and is finished with all her vetting. Her veterinarian feels that she should stay on prescription dog food to guard against future bladder issues... fortunately, she's not a picky eater, and loves her food!

Lucy's adoption fee is $400.00

Lucy is a loving, sweet, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home!

Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them
