My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Levi is a 6 year old Bouvier mix who is looking for a new home, one that won’t have any children in it now and in the future. He is super sweet but has been anxious since he was young. He cannot be in an apartment or condo as he’s not great with sudden and loud noises and will bark when afraid. He has been on a farm and in a more country setting – and he does very well in that setting with a fenced in yard. He’s leash reactive and should not be brought to dog parks for socializing. He has unfortunately been attacked by dogs in the past so he’s wary of new dogs. He will take some time to warm up to new adult humans but gets very comfortable fast! He can live perfectly with one or more cats in the household and is very respectful of their space.

Levi cannot be in a home with any children as that is the reason he was rehomed to begin with. As he’s an anxious dog, he would do best in a home with only adults.

We are looking for a family with lots of patience and love to give this huge baby boy; he is about 75 pounds or pure love! You can see in his eyes that he’s nervous, but wants to let down his guard. He’s very cuddly and intelligent and would love to be the center of someone’s universe!

Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!

Levi is vaccinated and sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.

Additional adoption info

We do regular follow ups and virtual home visits before the family meet the dog. :)

Go meet their pets

We are presently foster based so the meetings will take place where the dogs are being kept and that way the potential family can also discuss the good and bad habits of that dog to see if it's the right fit. The families need to be willing to work on a behaviour if it needs work and to provide the appropriate time and patience for the dog to accllimate to it's new home!

More about this rescue

We are a small shelter with lots of experience with dogs and rescuing. I worked for a larger shelter in the past but didn't always appreciate the way things were handled so I decided to branch out in a smaller scale but with all of the wonderful contacts and information that I've learned in the past decade + of doing rescue! Dogs are my passion and I would love to place as many as possible in their loving, furever homes!
