My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Poppy is the name of this chubby little black ball of fur.  Poppy and her brothers Sesame, Sunflower and Chia were all born in our foster care when their mom Onyx was trapped finally after 5 years of trying to TNR her in a managed colony.  Onyx was too far along to be spayed so she went to foster care and had her babies.  All of the kittens look exactly like her too! Poppy is a sweet and sassy girl that loves to play and wrestle especially with her brother Chia.  Poppy would be a great cat for kids because she is very tolerant and loves to have attention too.  Poppy and her brothers were born April of 2022 and have been waiting for someone to choose them to go home!  She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative and microchipped.  As always our adoption fee for cats/kittens is free will to approved applicants.

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
