My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sesame is a big boy who came to us as a stray and very fearful of humans. He has made tremendous progress with his socialization and now enjoys gentle affection. He enjoys quality lap time and pets. Sesame can still startle easily and may take a swing at sudden movements or noise, so we would not recommend placing him in a home with younger children. Sesame did not react around other cats or dogs at the shelter.

Sesame has tested positive for FIV.

FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) is a widely misunderstood condition. Many people think that it's easily spread, makes cats very sick, and that they have a lower life expectancy, so they are not often adopted. This is far from the truth!

Visit inapl.org to print out an adoption application. If you are interested in a specific pet please remember to write their name and kennel number(there are multiple animals with the same name in our shelter.)

Cat/kitten adoption fee: $85
Includes: Spay/neuter, FIV/Feline Leukemia/Heartworm testing, vaccinations, rabies shot (for those old enough), wormer, microchip and a free vet visit at participating vets.

***Cats adopted from PetSmart (Anderson location) get an adoption packet from PetSmart with valuable coupons for a free bag of food, discounted toys, etc.

Dog/Puppy adoption fee: $100
Includes: Spay/neuter, Heartworm test, vaccinations, rabies shot (for those old enough), wormer, microchip and a free vet visit at participating vets.

Dogs from the F.I.D.O. shelter dog prison program adoption fee: $150
Includes: Spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies shot, Heartworm test, microchip, wormer, a free vet exam to use at a participating vet. They are also crate trained, house trained and know their 5 basic commands.
