Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I'm Brooke, A Puerto Rican pup with a story of resilience and will to survive. Rescued in January from the confines of a cluttered dirty hoarding house, I found my 2nd chance at Big Dog Ranch. Initially I was thought to be a Chi mix, but I'm more likely a delightful Pot cake dog, a common mixed breed from Puerto Rico. As I grow I am looking more and more like a Feist which is known to be a wonderful affectionate and playful family dog. That describes me quite well actually!
Although a bit timid at first, I warm up quickly to those who show me kindness. Despite my rough beginnings, I'm spunky & cheerful with lots of spirit and I am known to break out in occasional zoomies, so please keep me active and entertained with plenty of toys.
Observant by nature, I find solace in the joys of the outdoors, content to sit and marvel at the wonders of the world. While I do have some back issues to contend with, including missing vertebrae which is why I hop, but I'm pain-free and have made Great progress in recent months. The vets say I can lead a normal and happy life.
Nowadays, you'll see me hopping around like a kangaroo, my tail wagging with joy during our leash walks. I am hard on my house manners and am an avid chewer. The tough toys are my favorite. I like car rides, especially ones that end at the park. I have met a couple of those things they call CATS here at the Ranch and I believe if they are nice to me I would be just fine with them too.
I need a forever home filled with love and understanding, where I can be adored just the way I am. None of us are perfect, but I believe I'm the perfect match for someone out there. Could it be you? Keep an eye out for me-I'll be watching and waiting for you.
