My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Alyssa. This adorable little girl is about a year old and weighs around 8 lbs. She is a little shy initially with new people, but warms up quickly and is loving and playful. She's good with other dogs her size but has not been around large dogs. She's curious about cats but could learn to live with them. Alyssa sustained a "tail pull" type injury and as a result, she has no feeling in her tail and is fecal incontinent. She is getting used to wearing diapers during the day and sleeps in an xpen diaper-free at night. One of her back legs also knuckles under on the foot but that does not slow her down. This sweetheart is looking for a special home that will be able to manage her potty accidents and give her a wonderful life.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an application and a home visit prior to all of our adoptions. We do adopt out of state, and may have a representative from another rescue complete the home visit for us. Once the home visit is completed and approved, the dog is available for you to adopt! While this sounds like a lengthy process, it actually is often completed in a day or two. We have an adoption contract that is filled out at the time of adoption, along with adoption fee's collected at that time.
Our adoption fee's are
Under 1yr: $250
1yr to 9yrs: $200
10yrs and up: $150

More about this rescue

We are a nonprofit, 501(C)(3), all volunteer, limited admission small dog rescue organization funded by private donations and adoption fees. We are a group of individuals who are dedicated to rescuing small breed dogs who have been abandoned, abused, neglected or left behind by their former owners. Our belief is that companion animals are living beings who are not merely "pets" but family members. We strive to find homes for them who share this view. We are committed to providing them with a temporary home where they receive veterinary care, including spay or neuter, socialization, exercise, love and good nutrition until their forever home can be found. We do not discriminate against small dogs based on breed or physical disability.

Mini Mighty Mutts is a limited admissions rescue. We can only take in as many animals as our foster homes can safely and responsibly care for. We do not euthanize animals to make room for more. We simply stop taking in new animals until we have room. Each homeless dog will remain in our care until he or she finds a new home.
