My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tux is a gentle soul who loves to nap the day away and get pets and scritches from his favourite people. He told us he'd like a quiet home where he can decide when to ask for affection and when to relax in the sun. He also told us that he needs to be the only fur friend in the home; he's not taking the back seat to anyone!! Tux is part of the Signature Pets Program because he's been here much longer than many of his friends at the shelter. Because he's been looking for his forever home for so long, he's an Overlooked Pet, which means his adoption fee is up to you! Come meet me at PetSmart Dougall starting April 29th!

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
