With her friendly demeanor towards people, playful nature with toys, and impressive list of tricks ( sit, down, spin, crate, play dead) , she seems like she'd fit well into many different homes. Plus, her adaptability to various environments and lack of fear towards common stressors like car rides and nail trims makes her a go anywhere, do anything kind of girl. Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Fill out an online Application to start the adoption process. CALL your vet and give them permission to speak with Homeward Bound volunteers

2.
Approve Application

We will contact you via email to let you know the status of your application. Check your Spam folder if you don't hear back.

3.
Interview

A phone or virtual interview will be scheduled to discuss your application and answer questions. Interviews are also done at our Events.

4.
Meet the Pet

Adoption Event is May 17-19th at the Durham Fairgrounds. Our pets are currently in CT, GA and PA foster homes.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and micro-chipped. Adoption Fee is paid to the Rescue (typically $350-600.)

Additional adoption info

We adopt dogs to residents of Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine. We can't adopt to Massachusetts residents because of their laws concerning rescue animals. All adoptions occur in Connecticut.

Open Appointments Only: Friday, May 17, 2-6pm
Open: Saturday, May 18, 9-4 pm
Open: Sunday, May 19, 9-1 pm
Our dogs are in CT, GA and PA foster homes. You must fill out an online application to start the adoption process. You can meet dogs in CT prior to the event. Dogs in GA will arrive right before the event so you must attend the event to meet them. Dogs in PA may be able to come to CT prior to the event (depends on foster home availability).

More about this rescue

Homeward Bound CT is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. We help find forever homes for dogs by creating adoption events for rescues and shelters to attend and providing foster homes for dogs.

We run the Annual Chester Dog Fair (9 so far) every September! This is a fun day for the whole family - Dogs WELCOME!

We operate a Spay It Forward program which provides funds to spay and neuter Connecticut Shelter dogs.
