Meet Champagne, a unique and endearing 3-year-old Chinese Crested
cross currently looking for her forever home. Weighing in at a dainty 19
pounds, Champagne is a distinctive canine with a characteristic lack of fur
on her neck and body. Her head, however, is adorned with a soft, furry
fuzz. Her coloring suggests some cattle dog heritage that adds to her
individuality.
At first glance, Champagne may appear a bit shy and nervous, but beneath
that initial reserve lies a sweet and loving soul. She takes her time to warm
up to new faces, and patience is the key to winning her trust. Once she
feels comfortable, Champagne’s true personality shines through, and she
eagerly seeks human contact. She shows her pleasure with adorable full-
body wiggles.
Champagne enjoys a good game of fetch, enthusiastically chasing after a
tossed toy. While she may not engage in extended play after catching it,
the joy she experiences in the chase is fun to witness. Her playful spirit is
complemented by a friendly disposition towards other dogs. When another
dog passes by, she gives a friendly bark in greeting. Special care is needed
for Champagne’s unique features, as being without fur on most of her body
requires attention to prevent dryness and sensitivity to the sun.

Champagne is a Guardian Angel dog with an adoption fee of $350.
Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable and command an increased
adoption fee. This higher fee is used to defray the costs of caring
for rescues with special needs, either medical or behavioral, or for those
who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way our
Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! Adoption fees include
spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free
wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Adoption hours are
Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment by calling 602-
971-1334.
