Additional adoption info

The Rangely Animal Shelter works very hard to find homes for all adoptable animals. We require that the adoptive family includes the dog or cat as a highly regarded family member. We do have an adoption contract and there are certain qualifications that can be different with every dog or cat. All animals are spayed or neutered are micro-chipped and have all current vaccinations. We do require a 125.00 donation for adoptions that goes back into our spay and neuter program, and covers the registration for the micro-chip for the animal. This fee does not cover all of the costs but we would rather these animals find forever homes than charging a fee that no one can afford.

Go meet their pets

You can meet any of our adoptable pets most any time of the day at the shelter. Call the following numbers to set up a meeting time, even after hours.

More about this shelter

The Rangely Animal Shelter is made up of a wonderful caring staff! Katelyn Carlson is the shelter manager and has a love for all animals. She makes sure the Colorado statutes are followed and that all the animals are taken care of with dignity, respect and love. Katelyn Carlson is the Animal Control Officer who doesn't usually have to chase the dogs, they are usually chasing the Animal Control Truck to go with her. She has animals of her own. Sarah Ownby has been with the shelter for 4yrs and loves all the animals she loves to make sure they have a nice clean and warm place to sleep at night. Linda Farney has been with us for 15yrs from animal shelter tech to manager to animal control now she is back to shelter tech enjoying where she began at and happy to be back playing with all the fur babys.
