My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Loki is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with his current owner in Woodland. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Loki is a stunningly unique cat! He is seal pointed with a rich sable coat, captivating aqua blue eyes and a bobbed tail. Loki appears to be a Mekong Bobtail, which are quite common in Southeast Asia. It is somewhat rare to come across one here in our country. This breed originated in Thailand, and is naturally found throughout many parts of Southeast Asia, Iraq, Iran, Mongolia, Burma, Laos, China, and Vietnam. There are legends from ancient Siam that contained stories about these lovely cats, which have the Siamese point colors combined with the bobbed tail of a Manx.

Four year old Loki has been with his owner since he was a kitten. He has been an indoor only cat and got along with another cat for the first two years of his life, which passed away due to cancer. He is healthy, last Vet check was Oct 2023.

He has been fine as a single cat until his happy contented life was disrupted with the arrival of a new baby in his household. The crying infant has been stressing him out! He is loudly meowing as never before, is less affectionate and has a somewhat diminished appetite. He has everything a kitty could hope for, new cat tree, toys with catnip to keep him entertained, and lots of attention, but he doesn't seem as interested. When Loki meows it wakes the baby, who then cries, and stays awake. Sleep deprivation for his owners is beginning to take its toll. It has been a difficult 7 months diligently trying to help Loki adjust to this new change in their lives.

They wish for Loki to have a peaceful, quiet home where he can be the loving lap cat he is meant to be. He has never ever scratched and has been good around the baby. He's just not as content or as happy. His environment and space has been disrupted and his owners want to give him an opportunity for a better home life which has more space for him, the adequate undivided attention he needs and bonding opportunity.

His owners say this about him: "Loki is a playful, affectionate boy, independent but also a lovely lap cat that loves cuddles and snuggles, and is very loyal. He wants to be involved in everything including bed time, bath time, brushing teeth time. He is well behaved, pretty calm and friendly with young children and strangers. It takes time for him to build trust in new places and people at first, please be patient, once he feels safe, he will come for affection. He loves to sleep next to his beloved person, having plenty of cuddle time and chit chat time."

Loki is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

He currently lives with his owner in Woodland.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Loki please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus cat Rescue (purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
