My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well. What characters these Sphynxes are !! Of course they look "unusual" which is code for "Are you kidding me??" Yes, we all know they are they pretty funny looking. But what goes along with their interesting wrinkled bodies are their largely outrageous personalities. They are characters!

Take Cyrus Evergood Apples III for example. He has a different expression in every photograph. Who is he? First and foremost he says "I AM HERE !!" Nameless, he started out being called Big Balls. ( we took care of that ). Then we thought of regal names like Genghis or Leopold. Ultimately we toned that down to Cyrus because he is such a nice guy. Though Cy looks determined and tough quite a lot, mostly his face shows how super smart he is. He communicates and relates to humans all the time. Cy's new family needs to want his energetic, interactive companionship. He is really a very loving cooperative kitty, he's a baby who needs lots of attention and coddling/cuddling. Not a sleep on the couch kitty, you will always be aware that he is in the room with you.

And what fun that is!! He has come through a hard time. "Found outside " and brought to a shelter. I never believed that of course. He is a naked Sphynx how could he have been outside in February? He was very, very dirty as though he hadn't had a bath in ages, the water ran brown. He was patient. We excavated a massive amount of wax from his ears. He was patient. We got around to clipping his nails and he said "Absolutely Not ". That, he did not like though we got it done.

We are looking for a family who are experienced with the extra care Sphynxes need. They, for example, need attention to warmth. We put the blue sweater on him and it stayed on. The t shirt he disposed of. Sphynxes eat more food, and more meals than other cats to keep their temperature unusually high, about 102 degrees, so holding a little Sphynx is like holding a peach fuzz hand warmer.

Cy has a very nice, affectionate personality in a wonderful, healthy body. He is described as 3-5 yrs so I am calling him 4 yrs old. He seems to be cat friendly though maybe he is not suitable to live with a dominant cat. I don't know about dogs but the web says they are usually fine together. With their energetic, active intelligence they need an entertaining home to keep them busy. They do well with older children.

Cy eats everything wet and dry and is litterbox perfect.

Some family will be so very lucky to have his companionship. .

Cyrus Evergood Apples III is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Cyrus Evergood Apples III please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus cat Rescue (purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
