My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Red and Sammy: A Tale of Resilience and Hope!

Introducing Red (DOB: 1-27-2022) and Sammy (DOB: 1-19-2021)

Seeking a Patient and Understanding Home

Are you ready to open your heart to two adorable souls who have triumphed over adversity? Red and Sammy, a dynamic duo of Shitzu mixes, are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to be part of a loving family.

Their Journey to Resilience

Red and Sammy emerged from a local hoarding situation, where they faced unimaginable challenges in deplorable conditions. Despite their past, these resilient pups have started their journey towards recovery and are slowly regaining their strength and health.

The Perfect Companions for a Special Home

Red and Sammy have been through a lot, and they deserve a home filled with patience, understanding, and most importantly, love. To ensure their well-being, they would do best in an environment without small children. However, they thrive with the company of other dogs their size, providing each other comfort and support.

Health and Well-being

Both Red and Sammy are neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and have received the necessary preventatives. They are ready to embark on a new chapter of their lives, and all they need is a compassionate family willing to invest time, love, and patience to help them flourish.

What They Need in Their Forever Home:

A patient and understanding family
No small children in the home
Canine companions of similar size
Commitment to continued socialization and positive reinforcement
A secure and loving environment

What They Offer:
Unconditional love and loyalty
The joy of witnessing their transformation
A lifetime of companionship

If you believe you have the heart and home for Red and Sammy, please reach out to eastshoreha.org to submit an application and once approved we will call to arrange a meeting. Let's give these incredible dogs the chance they deserve for a brighter and happier future.

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
