My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ron Fleasley, a charming feline with a heart as vast as his curiosity. Despite rough beginnings when he was rescued from an abandoned apartment with over two dozen cats, Ron has blossomed into a loving and affectionate cat, earning the title of a true lover boy. This vocal companion enjoys expressing himself through strong and loving head butts and is occasionally so happy to be pet that he drools. Ron is an active and playful explorer and eager to be your TV-watching sidekick. With a friendly demeanor, this sweetheart seeks companionship, turning every moment into a shared joy. Ron would be a great addition to a family and could likely do well with a cat companion to keep him company when his humans are away. Embrace the love and companionship that Ron Fleasley eagerly brings into your home!

This cat can be adopted as a single cat or with a calm companion.

Ron was rescued with dental issues and is in need of surgery. In lieu of an adoption fee, we would be thrilled for a potential adopter to for a larger adoption donation and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
