Wanda is a retired breeder from a puppy mill in Missouri. When she came into foster care, she was so scared and didn’t appear to ever have any human kindness. Wanda would stay in her kennel with the door open and creep out and run back in for the first few days. She started to come around with some sniffs and pets for her foster mom. She loves to run in the yard. She does great with doing her business when outside. She seems to want to go straight to the gate when we are outside. A fenced in yard isn’t required but must be on a lead or leash when outside. After we are back inside, Wanda gets the zoomies! She gets so excited. Wanda loves to put her front paws on your lap and get her ears scratched. Wanda snorts and snores too!! Adorable! She reminds me of a pug! We are working on potty training, but she has taken to the puppy pads pretty well. Wanda is not fond of the leash at all, but we are working on it. She sleeps in her crate or in her dog bed outside her crate. Her play and sleeping area indoors has a playpen around it due to house breaking.
Wanda is currently sleeping and playing with another smaller foster pup. She seems to be ok with other dogs, but larger ones may be scary for her. She does bark at cats but could just be curiosity. She does ok with kids but is still spooked by loud noises or sudden movements. Wanda loves attention and will tell you when she needs some, especially when she hears you come home. Wanda is working on taking treats from her foster mom’s hand.
