My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Hi, my name is Gilligan and just like the character from the TV show I'm a little goofy too!  I just love to play!!!  In fact, its my favorite thing to do every day!  While my other kennel mates like to cuddle and snuggle or they are eagerly waiting for treats I like to find the best toys and see if someone will play with me.  Don't get me wrong, snuggles and treats are nice but playing with a crinkle ball, a jingle ball, those little springs or oh my gosh the fuzzy mice are just the best!!!  I'm very athletic and I love to climb and do fun cat stuff.  So I was found on the highway all alone as a kitten and brought to the shelter.  Here I got all the attention I needed but they also realized I am FeLV positive.  Now its ok because I'm healthy, they give me really high quality food and supplements that boost my immune system so I'm doing great but I do need to have a home as an only cat or with other FeLV positives.  I would be ok on my own and I might even like a dog friend but I do really like other kitties too so maybe you could consider adopting one of my buddies in my FeLV positive group?  Anyway, I was born May of 2022, I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. As always our adoption fee for cats and kittens is free will to approved applicants.

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
