Lyla is a gorgeous 1-1/2 year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 7, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Kenwood Street in Marietta Ohio. Lyla had befriended their family a week or so earlier, and they kept her safe while they tried in vain to locate her owner.
Lyla has a beautifully-marked white-and-dark brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a chocolate brown splotch on her nose, and long white whiskers. Lyla has a rather flat 'smooshed' facial appearance (stubby nose, short muzzle, and round chubby face) which makes her even more adorable.
The Good Samaritans who kept Lyla for awhile told us that she likes children and gets along well with them. She has not been around dogs or other cats.
Lyla has a sweet, rather shy, personality and is quite friendly. She was understandably 'out of her element' in a small shelter cage when we took her glamour photos on March 7th, but Lyla graciously posed like a 'pro' in spite of her apprehension.
Lyla was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on March 7, 2024. She weighed 9 lbs that day.
Lyla will be spayed in the near future and will soon be looking for a fabulous home.
UPDATE: The Good Samaritan and family offered Lyla a temporary foster home since they couldn't bear the thought of her being alone in a small shelter cage... So they picked her up on March 9th and will foster her until she finds a loving permanent home.
HSOV is currently accepting adoption applications for Lyla and will arrange a meet-and-greet with an approved HSOV adoption application.
