My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Smoke absolutely adores people. If she could speak, she would be an ambassador.
Her foster says: 'This is Smoke and she is the biggest sweetheart ever. She is really the perfect dog despite not having the best beginning. She is crate trained (goes right in with no problem), potty trained, is great with other dogs (very docile and plays gentle), takes treat as gentle as can be, is not food aggressive at all (it takes her about 5 minutes to eat a bowl of food) and is very smart. She is a quick learner- knows sit, stay and come. Smoke rides great in the car, does not pull on leash at all and is very affectionate and tries to talk to me. She sleeps on her dog bed right beside my bed through the night (has not made it in my bed just yet) and has free run of the house at all times. Smoke has not chewed anything or gotten into anything she is not supposed to. Smoke has enjoyed her daily walks, hikes at Hashawa, and visits to my sister's farm. She gets along well with my hound and loved playing with my sisters new rescue puppy.  Smoke is very laid back and would do well in any home in my opinion. She has not been cat tested but did notice the cats when she was at the vets office. Smoke has an old leg injury, but she gets around well.'
We have made sure she has all her shots and is ready to go and start being your best girl right away.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of rescuers who have done rescue with other groups for many years.. some of us have started other rescues. we found that some rescues do not use good adoption practices and felt a new rescue can help more dogs.
