Hi, my name is Barry. I was rescued from a rural shelter and living with a foster family for the past two months. In that time my foster family has learned many good things about me. My age is approximately two years old. When rescued I was very thin, however, I am gaining weight, and my coat is soft and luxurious. During the day I am mostly outside in a fenced yard playing with two other huskies. I should mention that I like being the leader of the pack, but I am learning to wait my turn. My foster family is working on basic obedience skills, and I have learned sit, down, come, and sometimes I know stay. My house manners are very good. I am crate trained and have not had any accidents in the house. At night I enjoy quietly sleeping on my bed. I am learning what fun toys can be and I like playing with a ball. Leash walking is an awesome activity. My foster family is working with me though as I like to pull and get excited. Maybe I have dreams of trying out for a sled dog team. With patience I can learn to walk nicely on a leash. Riding in a vehicle is fun and I do enjoy going places to see new things. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact the rescue as I would LOVE to meet you. My foster family would be happy to speak with you about me and answer any questions. ♥

The way the adoption works is you complete an application, which we review. If you have had previous pets (like a cat or other dogs) we do a vet check to ensure they are up to date on shots etc. Then the last step is a home visit to basically ensure there are no obvious dangers for the dog in the home. The fee is $100.

More about this rescue
Releashed Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing working dogs from high-kill shelters, rehabilitating those that need training and rehoming them into permanent loving homes.
Releashed Rescue will provide food, shelter, basic necessities, medical treatment including shots and spay or neuter, and work to train any animal going through our program. Our goal is to find the right family to love and care for the animals for their lifetime.
Releashed Rescue has a vision of a world where animals are not killed because they are inconvenient. Instead, we hope to educate the public about pet over-population, spay , neuter, humane treatment of animals and how animals can enrich the lives of people including the elderly, children and those with disabilities.
