My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My adoption fees are waived as part of the "Single and Lovin' It!" promotion!

*Does not include $8.50 - $34 NYC dog licensing fee

There is an adorable video of me on ACC's TikTok page. Click here to experience the cuteness!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I need a home where there are no other dogs.

I need a home without cats or small animals.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I am really treat motivated. You can use treats to teach me new things!

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

A volunteer writes: Are you looking for an adorable dog pal? Look no further! Bonita may be the one for you. She is just about as sweet as can be. Bonita is a lot about fun. She adores yellow fuzzy tennis balls and ignores all other toys. Bonita will bring one to you, but she's only teasing. She doesn't really want you to take it. She immediately picks it up again and dances off with it. When Bonita isn't doing tennis ball stuff, she'll sit on the bench with you. She is quite content to be petted and talked to. Who can resist those soulful brown eyes set against big brown patches? Come meet Bonita at Manhattan ACC.

My foster writes: Bonita is the perfect name for this pretty girl who gets stopped on the street all day long with people commenting on how pretty she is. She's a cuddly, snuggly gal who loves to stick close to her person, to whom she'll give infinity kisses if you let her. Her love for tennis balls known no bounds, and she'll run for one while still holding another in her mouth. She's an eager and fast learner, especially when there are treats involved.
She'll thrive if you have a backyard where she can get out lots of energy, after she's done that she's happiest cuddled up next to you for hours on end. She's growing in confidence and needs a little extra patience as she overcomes some anxiety. If you're looking for an active yet cuddly companion, look no further than beautiful Bonita!
