My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Behold Evian, a leggy red chi whose beauty is enhanced by creamy white signs of elegant seniority. She is agile and lithe, an avid explorer of new territory and a big fan of fellow pups and people. Given her druthers, this gently aged vixen will lounge in a pile of furry pals, enjoying sunshine and idle gossip for much an afternoon. A lap is another favorite destination. Bring her home and start that cross-species book club you've always wanted!

Here are some notes from her foster:

Evian's likes include: cozy naps, lounging with dog friends, serving as a hot water bottle for her humans, sleeping through the night beautifully, taking herself outside or going to a pee pad to potty, being able to do stairs, surprising her foster humans with how sweet and snuggly she is, and bringing joy every day to the people and dogs lucky enough to meet her.

Evian doesn't really have dislikes, as she is one of the most agreeable dogs you'll ever meet. She'd prefer more pets to less pets, likewise more food over less food, but she isn't one to get too demanding about either. Evian isn't great at walking in a straight line on leash, but this seems more like a lack of familiarity with leash walking in general more than anything intentional. It's a joy to watch how delighted she is to be out and about, smelling something intensely then bounding toward another rock/plant/car tire of interest. She has a good deal of stamina, but is so thankful when her human walking partners are willing to make frequent stops so she can revel in all the smells.

We, her foster people, are utterly smitten as are our resident dogs. She's pretty much perfect.

More about this rescue

Muttville is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs. On a local level, Muttville rescues senior dogs and finds them foster homes or gives them hospice. On a global level, Muttville provides information about caring for older dogs and support for people who do.

Through associations with shelters and other animal organizations, Muttville finds senior dogs that have been given up and are not likely to find adopted homes. Through outreach and networking, Muttville finds suitable foster homes for these dogs. Ultimately, Muttville will have its own facility to house dogs that are not yet placed, or that are unlikely to be placed.
