Shaquille came to the shelter with his adopted sister, Sylvia, after their owner could no longer keep them. Both were shy at first, and Shaquille took a little more time than his sister to come out and say hello. Turns out, he's just as loving as his sister and loves belly rubs! He and his sister don't seem to have interest in wet food. Both appear very dog friendly!

Stray Animal Midway Shelter (SAMS) was incorporated in 2010 with our focus being spay neuter assistance. In Noovember of 2013 SAMS purchased property and now operates as a no-kill shelter in Peoria County. We work closely with local and surrounding county shelters and obtain healthy and adoptable pets that would otherwise be euthanized for lack of space. SAMS receives no funding from government, state, county or municiple entities and are funded solelyby fundraising and donations. You can help by volunteering, adopting and donating to our cause.
