My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh! Did you see that?! What was that majestic fluffy thing? Was it a bird, a plane? Nope. It was Princess Lightning Flirty Floof!

This lady is as fast as lightning and as beautiful with her sleek long black hair and super fluffy tail. As her name gives away, she is quite the flirt - nuzzling nearby objects and purring, purring, purring as she requests attention from you. But don't think you can just pet her; she's still a princess after all and has to be in the mood for pets. If she does want attention: beware! She won't stop nuzzling and pawing at you for ALL the LOVE!

Lightning has been in her foster home for a few months now and has been learning to trust her human caretakers. At first, she wouldn't come out from under the bed but now she is the flirty girl above. She can be a bit skittish at first but warms up after a few days to new people. When you go to bed (or just near a bed) expect her to suddenly appear from thin air and ask for love. She is awkward when petted, often belly flopping and, in a few occasions, falling off the bed, causing quite a few giggles from her foster parents.

She LOVES to zoom around with toys! Don't be surprised if you hear tiny mews as she carries around her latest favorite stuffy toy. She even likes dog toys and has been known to steal the dog's toys!

Lightning currently resides with other cats and would love to be in a home with another kitty who will play and hang out with her. She also lives with a medium sized active dog who she tolerates and even sometimes nuzzles and grooms. She could do well in a home with cat-savvy children who give her space when she needs it.

Lightning is about 10 months old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. If you are looking for an ever-flirty floofy new shadow who will make you giggle with her antics and silliness, do apply for this Princess Lightning soon!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
