I'm Sable, a delicious chocolate colored Shih Tzu girl. I'm 9 years old and weigh 21 lbs. When I first came to my foster home, I weighed almost 26 lb! I have the cutest face and smile. I love to play with toys, and run and play with the other dogs in my foster home, but I also enjoy my nap time and sleeping in the big bed. I like to go on short walks, and explore my fenced backyard. Because I belonged to someone who loved me and took good care of me, I am perfectly house trained, and love to snuggle with my person.
Sable was given up when her owner went into assisted living and no one in the family would take her.. She has recently been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, takes daily medication, and hasn't slowed down a bit. She is a very active, sweet, slightly "fluffy" Tzu girl with special medical needs.
Sable is fostering in the mid-atlantic area of the USA.

Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue, Inc. is a national rescue organization that is dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of toy purebred and mixed breed dogs. We accept dogs in need from shelters, other rescuers, and individuals giving up their pets for a variety of reasons. Our furbabies are examined and treated by our veterinarians, innoculated, and spayed or neutered before placement. They are also thoroughly temperament assessed. We believe that, somewhere, there is a home for every dog, but that we have a responsibility to place our dogs into homes that will best meet their needs, both physically and emotionally. We look for people with patience and loving hearts, and an understanding of the furbaby mind.
