Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wes is an awesome 10-year old male Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on March 13, 2024 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden who had picked him up on State Route 555 in the Little Hocking Ohio area. Wes was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
Wes has a chocolate brown/auburn coat with cream-colored highlights on his chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with soft brown eyes, a cream-colored mask, a liver-colored nose, and large floppy ears.
One of the Good Samaritans who had seen Wes making his rounds in the Little Hocking neighborhood (before he came to our shelter) stopped in her Jeep to see if she might able to help him .. And he quickly jumped into her vehicle and sat nicely in the passenger's seat. Gotta love a guy like Wes! That kind lady kept Wes safe until the Dog Warden arrived to give him limousine service to our shelter.
This handsome debonair 'man about town' has a lovable charismatic personality. Everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Wes has fallen hopelessly in love with him.
Wes is believed to be a senior citizen, but perhaps his frosty face gives him the appearance of a much older guy than he really is? Wes' teeth are rather white .. His toenails are short and nicely trimmed. He did have several ticks on his head/ears/coat which were removed when his intake procedures were being completed, so he has spent some time outdoors lately.
Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard for spending time with Wes late in the afternoon on March 13th and assisting him with his photo session. Wes looked to Jennie for guidance (and soaked up the attention which she bestowed upon him).
Wes appeared to be housebroken since he 'took care of business' for a long long time as soon as he reached the grassy area.
Wes weighs 53.2 lbs and walks gently on a leash. He has not been neutered.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Wes will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
