Meet Edzo! A surfer dude in a former life, Edzo is laid back and happily observes the action around him. His favorite games are playing keep-away with his sister Alison in the yard and chasing his Uncle Klaus. Edzo also loves balls and other toys and almost always has to have one in his mouth when he heads outside. A mix of active and laid back, Edzo has great potential for being a walking companion.
Edzo currently lives with other large dogs of his own age and older. While there is a cat in the home, he has not had direct access or been "tested" for his reaction to cats or small dogs. His young age, energy level, and large size may not make him appropriate for homes with children under the age of seven. With time, patience, and treats, Edzo will become a loving dog.

Our adoption process is a walk-up and queue-based, first-come, first-served system. You will have a meet and greet with an Adoption Counselor to discuss your application, review information on the pets you would like to meet, and you will be introduced to the pet(s).If the Meet and Greet is a success, staff will complete your adoption paperwork to make it official! If your new family member is already spayed/neutered, they will go home with you right away!

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.
We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.
In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
