My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Leota (named after Madam Leota) is a shepherd mix pup, and she is now available to find her forever home! Leota is 12 weeks (DOB 12/21/2023) and is a sweet, snuggly, playful girl! She’s about 28lbs now and will be about 65-80 lbs fully grown. She also has a soft medium fur coat. Leota will be adopted on a spay contract.

Leota is super playful, good with all dogs big & small, good with kids 5+, (I’m sure smaller kids too but needs to be taught to go easy/slower with babies/toddlers- we don’t have any here). No exposure to cats yet but was instantly good with a new puppy and a new 2 yr old pug so it’s possible! She would do best in a home with another youngish dog as a play companion or an active family. Leota likes to play a lot, take a nice nap, and comes to you for brief snuggles. She likes to nap, lay and sleep independently nearby. Leota is just learning collars & leash training so that will need to be continued in her new home. She is potty trained to an open sliding door in her current foster home.

Looking for an experienced big breed owner for this beautiful shepherd mix! Training & socialization are super important for a big breed owner and will be absolutely need to be continued by a dedicated owner.

Please remember - all puppies will need potty training and this one will still require that in her new home. No puppy is accident proof, so homes must be puppy-proofed & ready before pup adoption.

More about this rescue

Cause for SB Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to helping lost, abandoned, abused and homeless dogs from the streets and our city and county shelters in the San Bernardino area. Our goal is to rehome our rescued babies into pet-loving communities that will cherish these formerly forgotten souls.

We are a dedicated team of San Bernardino residents who grew frustrated with the substandard treatment of animals in our community and shelters. We foster all of the dogs we rescue so they can de-stress from their time on the streets or in the shelter system and get them used to the love and trust of being an inside companion animal living in a loving home. We also fully vet our dogs and treat any known issues, including dental, hernia repair, etc.
