HANNAH the free spirit! Hannah's joyful spirit shines through.... even found with puppies, she maintained an upbeat demeanor. In the shelter, she literally dances in anticipation when people approach, foot tapping and twirling as if in a ballroom. Her "Dancing with Myself" video reveals a playful girl who won't let confinement dampen her mood. Her eyes sparkle with enthusiasm and upon meeting happy boy Bash, Hannah may have found the Astaire to her Rogers. They quickly struck up a friendship filled with frolicking and head-bopping hijinks, as if forever dance partners. Hannah's charm touches everyone around her, humans and canines alike. Even in less than ideal conditions, she chooses JOY.

If an animal is listed in foster care please call the shelter at (512) 549-5160 so we can assist you in making arrangements to meet the pet. Once you have found the animal you are wanting to adopt, or have made the decision to come to the shelter, please fill out our adoption application and bring it with you.

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
