My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet long stay, LULU (sister to Nancy. A mixed breed puppy Lulu has an adorable patchwork coat of brindle fur sprinkled with white markings. Her floppy ears and bright eyes convey a sense of eager curiosity. She's happy and playful, always ready for fun with dog pal Athena. It doesn't appear Lulu and sis had the security of a home, but she's ready now! Lulu loves making new friends, both human and canine. She dreams of her own family who will provide plenty of love, playtime, training, snuggles, comfort and security. Lulu dreams of the day her family comes for her, she will be waiting with paws crossed and bags packed.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
