My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note: Please read Mama's FULL BIO as we are looking for a very specific foster-to-adopt home for her! Mama aka "Mama Kelce" is a LOVER! She came into rescue with her 6 puppies (our second Swiftie litter). Mama's a sweet girl who loves snuggling with her favorite people. She loves to curl up in your lap while watching a movie on the couch (she's a petite lady so she can fit!). Mama loves playing with toys and stuffed animals and enjoys chewing on bones. More than anything though, she wants to be with her human and love on them. If you're looking for a new best friend, Mama is your girl! Mama is very friendly with other dogs (currently fostered with two, one male and one female) but we aren't sure about cats or children yet. She can easily be tested if necessary. Mama doesn't have any accidents in her crate. She's working on learning basic commands and can be a little mouthy and jumpy at times (easy to train, puppylike behaviors), but she's a fast learner and aims to please! She is currently being treated for heartworms, but the cost of treatment is completely covered by our rescue. Her foster-to-adopt family must understand that Mama will have crate rest and exercise restrictions during treatment. A low-stress, slow-paced environment is most ideal! If you're interested in fostering-to-adopt, please submit an adoption application. Her adoption fee has been partially sponsored and is now only $150. Mama is already spayed and vaccinated, but her treatment will take 60-90 days to complete. Please visit our website savedbyfate.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Additional adoption info

SBF adoptions start off with a 2-week trial period to ensure that the SBF dog is a good fit for your family and current pets. The adoption fee is due the day an adopter starts the 2-week trial period. If the adoption does not work out within those two weeks, the adopter will be refunded all but a $50 donation, or they can put the fee towards another adoptable dog.

More about this rescue

Saved by Fate is a dog rescue organization in Central Kentucky that specializes in pulling dogs at high risk of euthanasia from Kentucky shelters. SBF was founded by Mara DeLaus and Ciara Hagedorn in 2022. After years of volunteering for a fellow organization, they saw a significant need for additional rescue resources in their area. SBF is an entirely foster and volunteer based organization that does not have a physical location or kennel at this time.
