My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Princess!

Princess is a 4.5 year old tri coloured guinea pig. She enjoys cuddling up in cozy bedding and nibbling on her favorite treats. Princess has a curious nature and loves to explore her surroundings. One thing to note about Princess is that she requires frequent nail trims to keep her comfortable and healthy. Guinea pigs' nails can grow quickly and need regular maintenance to prevent them from becoming too long or causing discomfort. Princess would benefit from an owner who is willing to provide her with the care and attention she needs to keep her nails trim and tidy. Princess would thrive in a loving home where she receives plenty of attention and affection. She would do well with a family or individual who has experience caring for guinea pigs or is willing to learn about their unique needs. Princess enjoys having space to roam and explore, so a spacious enclosure with plenty of enrichment activities would be ideal for her.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
